Welcome to the St Marks's school website. St Mark’s Special National School was established in 1974, and moved to its present location on Station Road in November 1978.
It is a co-educational school for pupils between the ages of 4 and 18 who have been assessed as having a mild general learning disability.
We aim to provide a caring, learning environment which facilitates the nurturing and development of each pupil's full educational potential.
St.Mark's recognises that all pupils are individuals with personal gifts, strengths and needs, and we offer individualised education to all pupils which is centred around their own personal Individual Educational Plan. This individualised learning is dovetailed with national programmes which results in certification at Levels 1,2 or 3 for Junior Cycle students and QQI Level 1,2 or 3 modules at Senior Cycle.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to parents and families who are interested in finding more out about our school either through our web site or visiting us personally.
We enjoy visitors coming to our school but with a prior appointment as this minimises disruption to the classes and the timetables.
