SCAREFEST
We had a Spooktacular Scarefest for Halloween where students and staff dressed to impress and students wowed us with their talents in a brilliant show!
It was a day of fun and frights.
PRIMARY OWL LIFE
Our Primary Class have been busy doing lots of work learning about “Owl Life” this month, During story time they listened to the story Owl Babies then used their creative minds to sequence pictures, write sentences and use finger painting to create their own Owl Babies.
YOGA...
Our 5th Years have been taking some time to “Zen” and have been using yoga techniques to stimulate the mind and body. Yoga encourages a sense of self and teamwork while reducing stress and anxiety. It also develops and improves concentration and focus.
TYPING CLUB
Our new “Typing Club” takes place every morning for pupils who need to work on their typing skills. Pupils use the Dance Mat Programme which improves children's spelling, grammar and punctuation as well as learning new words.
CAREERS DAY
On Thursday the 14th of November our 6th years attended a Further Education & Training day in Sarsfields GAA in Newbridge. On the day there were stands and organisations from National Learning Network (NLN) , KARE, Camphill, Project Search, Citizens information, Dunshane and “Louise Casey” from the HSE. Everyone got a chance to chat with each individual organisation about potential career opportunities. All the organisations gave us a leaflet on what they have to offer for each student. It was a very interesting day and we all came away with plenty of options for our future education.
An informative and productive day was had by all.
